Haibun is a literary form that combines haiku and prose. Haibun originated in Japan in the 17th century and can include a variety of works, such as: autobiography, diary, essay, prose poem, short story, or travel journal. Today, this literary form is enjoyed globally and continues to evolve, if only among a small and devoted set of practitioners.
I have now added other tanka forms, including Tanka Prose and Garland Tanka. The former relates more to Haibun and the latter is a six stanza tanka where the last stanza is comprised of lines from the other five stanzas (first line of the first stanza, second line of the second stanza, etc.)
